The Sandlot is a family friendly and nostalgic 1993 American coming-of-age sports comedy film co-written, directed, and narrated by David Mickey Evans. Set in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles during the summer of 1962, it tells the story of a new kid in town taken under the wing of a young baseball prodigy and his rowdy team, resulting in many adventures. In addition to a treasure trove of talented kid actors it also stars Karen Allen, Denis Leary, and James Earl Jones. The film has become a cult favorite and has developed a devoted following.
