SGC 4 (VG-EX 50) 1910-11 Sporting Life M116 #182 Fred Mitchell

The cards in this 288-card set (326 with all variations) measure approximately 1 1/2" by 2 5/8". The Sporting Life set was offered as a premium to the publication's subscribers in 1910 and 1911. Each of the 24 series of 12 cards, which cost four cents for each series, came in an envelope printed with a list of the players within. Cards marked with S1 or S2 followed by an asterisk can be found with both a blue background and a more common pastel background. Cards marked with S3 followed with an asterisk are found with either a blue or black printed Sporting Life advertisement on the reverse. McConnell appears with both Boston AL (common) and Chicago White Sox (scarce).
